What we work to
Acquisition, care, research and disposal, all measured against what the profession agreed rather than what is convenient this quarter.
Public-domain works released with no rights reserved, so anyone may use them for anything, including commercially.
Te Papa applies a more restrictive licence to images of taonga Māori and Māori ancestors. Open by default does not mean open regardless.
Twenty-one procedures, nine of them primary and required for Accreditation.
The images come out of an interoperable endpoint, so any compliant viewer can read them, including one you did not build.

Most rights rails say open access and stop. This one carries the exception as a first-class row, because Te Papa's position is the honest version: some material is open, and some is not, and the difference is not a technicality. Visitors read it. So do funders.
