Website and collection online

Most museum websites are a brochure with a collection bolted to the side. This is the other way round: the collection is the site, and everything else arranges itself around it.

What you get

01

The catalogue, searchable

Built from the export your collections system already produces, however untidy. Nothing has to be cleaned up first.

02

Images any viewer can read

Served through a standard image endpoint, so a researcher can deep zoom in your site or in a tool you have never heard of.

03

Two languages where it matters

Side by side on the object label, searchable in both, with the rights position stated where it differs by material.

04

Listings pick you up on their own

Structured event and place data in the page, so aggregators find your opening hours without anybody filling in their form.

What I need from you
  • An export from your collections system, in whatever format it gives
  • Your opening hours and admission rules, including the exceptions
  • Who signs off wording, and who signs off rights
  • Any existing domain and where its DNS lives
